Bharti Airtel has introduced new Mega Saver Packs for its prepaid subscribers. The company’s new data packs target heavy data consumers, and are available in two denominations – Rs 748 and Rs 1,498. These are the telecom operator’s first data packs to take advantage of TRAI’s (Telecom Regulatory Authority of India) new rules for longer validity data packs.

The Rs 748 Mega Saver Pack offers 1GB of 4G/3G data with a validity of 28 days. Post exhaustion of the data limit, users can avail 1GB 4G/3G data for Rs 99 over a period of six months.

The Rs 1,498 Mega Saver Pack also offers the same 1GB of 4G/3G data. However, post exhaustion of the data limit, it allows users to enjoy 1GB 4G/3G recharges for Rs 51 over a period of 12 months.

It’s worth mentioning that there’s no limit on the number of recharges done during the Mega Saver Pack’s period.

The new data plans are available for Airtel prepaid users in Delhi, and will be made available across circles starting August 31 st .

Airtel has launched these plans right ahead of Reliance Jio’s commercial rollout of its 4G services later this year. Jio has already created ripple in the mobile internet market with its Preview Offer, which promises unlimited 4G data and voice calls for 90 days.
